Throwing bowls deserves special attention. Whether you are making small breakfast bowls or aiming for a table centrepiece; anticipating applying decoration or planning straightforward glaze dipping; leaving enough clay to turn a footring or keeping it simple, nothing is quite so satisfying as a beautiful curve inside a bowl and a good balance in the hands.
During this workshop, depending on your experience, you will be throwing shallow and deep, small and larger bowls. In particular we will be concentrating on the cross section, aiming to produce a progressive curve on the inside surface and to use the clay efficiently.
You can book Day 1 as stand-alone workshop practice and allow your work to be reclaimed, or arrange to finish pots on Day 2 or a subsequent visit. Additional firing charges then apply.
This workshop is suitable for beginner, early and intermediate potters.
Course fee: £80 per day includes hot drinks and biscuits; bring your own lunch or visit one of the many cafes locally.
