Porcelain is a beguiling material; seductively smooth and flowing on the wheel, luminous when clothed with classic translucent glazes. It can be timelessly elegant or provide a great canvas for contemporary surface treatments.
It has prima donna tendencies though, requiring direct and sensitive treatment to avoid warping and cracking while being worked, and careful firing in the kiln. Still, when it bestows its favours nothing else matches its clarity and punch.
